Subject: Ridding yourself of these dangerous pests I rid my yard of squirrels with the use
of an animal trap. In the past two years upon receiving the trap as a
Christmas gift from my son, I have caught 27 squirrels, 2 skunks and one
possum. I dropped off each one (unless I caught 2 per day) at a forest
preserve area 5 miles from home; none have returned.
In England naturalists have become
alarmed because of the spread of the gray squirrels destroying and
replacing the red and black squirrels.
In Ireland red squirrels are protected
by law but it is perfectly legal to shoot or destroy the gray (American)
squirrels which are regarded as predators and VERMIN; that attack and
kill off the red squirrels.
