Subject: Squirrel in the flue pipe I have a nest of squirrels at the top of
my chimney at about 45' up. One of the wicked beasts fell down the flue
pipe. This is not a masonry chimney as it only supports a set of gas
logs. The flue consists of triple-walled pipe. The squirrel is caught at
a bend in this stove pipe. I can access the pipe from the attic but I'd
rather not have to cut it open $$$$$!
I could drop a rope in from the top and
hope it will climb out but the access is poor and the altitude high. I
set up a buffet at the bottom, walnuts, almonds, peanut butter and H2O
in he hope he/she'll come down and exit my home through a human portal.
I'd rather not bake the little critter out but if he/she won't come out
and expires in the pipe....I'll have to accelerate the desiccation for
sanitation reasons. Any suggestions?
